Issue #42: On No-AI Days, Mountains & Pebbles, Aha Moments, Weights Of Words, Passion & Curiosity, etc
Week 42: 21th April 2025 - 27th April 2025
Boredom is necessary to come up with ideas. The weeks when a lot happens are the ones when no idea comes to mind. I have said this before and was reminded of it again.
Here are a few interesting reads I found this week:
[Article: Avoiding Over-Dependence On AI]
This article talks about how to avoid over-dependence on LLMs as software developers, but it can be more generally applied to all fields. Especially these points:
[Article: The Mountain Or The Pebble]
This is a great read that basically breaks down the problem into chunks. We know this intuitively, but it’s important to remind ourselves every so often.
This is the quote that sums up the article:
"It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe."
- Muhammad Ali
[Article: On Weighing Words]
A good read on how writing long sentences can end up causing the reader to remember and understand less!
[Article: On Finding Your Aha Moment]
This article has a lot of resources on finding the creative breakthrough to solve tough problems, but these 2 are probably my favorites:
[Random]
A good definition of integrity
A valid concern when you feel like you are stuck in a rut.
(Translation: While saying 'this too shall pass', I hope the whole life doesn't just pass by.)
Richard Feynman on passion, curiosity, and living fully:
“Fall in love with some activity, and do it! Nobody ever figures out what life is all about, and it doesn’t matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough. Work as hard and as much as you want to on the things you like to do the best. Don’t think about what you want to be, but what you want to do. Keep up some kind of a minimum with other things so that society doesn’t stop you from doing anything at all.” (Source)

Next week पुन्हा भेटू!
'The mountain or the pebble'is thought provoking.'On finding your Aha moment' is in continuation of our discussion about what is more productive '70/40 hours work.'
We achieve something in life, rather we run with the life..but it is skill to Live life.
Lastly,Is it not more impressive to say this in the third way as"On thirty first october1998,suddenly the trouble began."..?
Loved it. The article started with boredom..but ended aptly with feynman's quote.
